Lifeguard Training (American Red Cross Certified)
Provides participants with the knowledge, skills and practice needed to become well trained and effective lifeguards at pools and non-surf beaches. Emergency care for spinal injury in the water is emphasized. Prerequisites: Must be at least 15 years old and pass a swim test. Must have current Red Cross Adult CPR and Red Cross Standard First Aid certifications. CPR, Etc. can provide First Aid and CPR training certification if participant does not currently have them.

Lifeguard Challenge
A challenge course gives individuals the opportunity to demonstrate knowledge and skill competency outside a formal class setting. Participants have sole responsibility for preparing for the knowledge and skill evaluations. Anyone is eligible to participate in a challenge course. Individuals who do not possess a current American Red Cross Lifeguard Training and First Aid certificate and a current American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer certificate may participate in a Lifeguard challenge course once. If the participant fails to successfully complete any portion of the challenge, they must take a full training class.
